Announcing The Queer India Fellowship
Hello,
We’ve had a busy first quarter at the Foundation, and wanted to send you an update about a project we’re very excited about. On April 14, we launched the Queer India Fellowship (QIF), a 12-month leadership programme aimed at nurturing and advancing emerging queer leaders across India. Fellowship applications are live at queerindiafellowship.com until June 30. You’ll also find helpful information about who the fellowship is for, why it’s important to us (and some fun reels we’ve been making for Instagram about it).
Briefly: We’re starting QIF as part of an effort to enable and encourage queer leadership across diverse fields. We hope it will add to the momentum for social acceptance, legal reforms, and equity for queer Indians. Through QIF, we aim to support the visibility and dignity of queer Indian leadership in the mainstream.
We’re proud to partner our friends at the Godrej DEI Lab on the fellowship.
What you can do: If you’re eligible for the Fellowship, we hope you’ll apply — see the link below. If you know people who might be eligible, please help us and spread the word. Do reach out to us with any questions or suggestions you might have for us as we take our first steps on this journey.
Please read a short essay by our Fellowships Lead, Rajeev Anand Kushwah, on why we launched this fellowship on April 14, the birth anniversary of Dr B.R. Ambedkar.
